Abstract
People with disabilities in Indonesia still face various obstacles in obtaining decent and equal jobs. One of the factors that play a role in this obstacle is the stigma of ableism that exists in society which assumes that people with disabilities are unable or unfit to work to overcome this stigma and ensure equal rights for persons with disabilities. The Indonesian government has developed a legal framework for human rights (HAM). The legal framework in Indonesia includes various legal instruments that focus on protecting and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities. These instruments include the 1945 Constitution, Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities, and various implementing regulations. The government's efforts to overcome the stigma of ableism towards persons with disabilities and the right to a decent job can be seen in several steps. First, the human rights legal framework encourages employers to provide appropriate accessibility and accommodation for persons with disabilities in the workplace. Second, the government provides incentives for companies that implement inclusive policies and involve persons with disabilities in the work environment.
