Abstract

Religion is a kind of social system comes from a non-empirical power. It was used by its believer to achieve salvation. In primitive religion, religions practice tried to manipulate the creatures and supranatural powers for themselves, by conducting rituals, ceremonies, prayers and dancing, and by sacrificing a person or animal. All of these religions activities were conducted to ask solutions for their salvation. according to the reasons, religion was associated with culture whenever the product of religion and culture are damaged by certain people. It can couse conflict both inter groups and intra groups. The different practice of culture in certain community affects the different practice in religion. In Indonesia, for instance, multifaces of Islam in Java have invited antropoligist to do research about Islam and Java. Besides Java, Balinese Islam also has unique appearence and performence. Not only having aculturated with local culture, but Islam in Bali also encounters Hindu as majority religion in this island. This research found that balinese muslims are migrants from Java and Madura islands, that brings certain values to Hindu Balinese itself. Therefore, Islam in Bali is culturally inculturative and ideologically enculturative. This uniqueness from mixing Islamic theological values and local culture values, sharia become inclussive to local culture and apparently enriches both Islam and local culture in Bali which is very benevicial to tourism in Bali
