Efektifitas kebijakan seleksi penerimaan mahasiswa baru program S1 IAIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya

This study tries to compare the achievement of PMDK students and that of MAK alumnae. It is hypothesized that the former is not equal to or better than the latter. That is based on the fact that PMDK students (without admission test) must be those in ranks 1 to 10 in their class, whereas MAK alumnae should still take the admission test although they had been prepared to continue to IAIN. The samples are student candidates of 2004/2005 consisting of 118 PMDK students and 72 MAK alumnae. Having been analyzed using "t" test, the result shows that there is no significant difference between the achievement of PMDK students and that of MAK alumnae either with 1% or 5% significance level and 64db.
