Abstract

Despite the fact that dresses are mainly intended to cover the body, there are still some different opinions among ulama about the limits of the parts of the body to cover, especially that of women. For men, the parts of the body to cover are from the navel to the knee, whereas for women those to cover are of three opinions. First, the free women's parts of the body to cover are the whole body except the face and the palms. Second, they only include two genitals, located in the front and the back. The third opinion states that they include the whole parts of women's body. The writer, however, agrees to the first opinion, because it is more rational, has the strongest arguments, and not against other verses. The implementation of dress limits for career women is that women must always cover their body although they carry out the men's duty such as war, for instance. However, when working together with men, the dress should cover the obligatory parts, not picturing body shape, too tight, nor transparent. When working with other women, moreover, wearing the dress of local styles is permissible.
