Abstract

Some results of the study explained that the meeting of Islam with local tradition gave birth to the typology of Islam. Results of the study inclu.de: the typology of syncretic Islam, Islam prophetic, Popular Islam, Islam collaborative and other Islamic typology. The process of gathering Islam with local tradition is done in an elegant manner. The process is carried out by means of adaptation, acculturation, assimilation, collaboration, enculturation, enculturation or hybridity.Typology of syncretic Islam is considered the most phenomenal because, justifi cation is a syncretic Islam. Conclusions are still poses a pejorative meaning. Eclectic offers an alternative solution in the typology. Eclectic typology found in research results in Pesantren Tlasih 87 Sumbergirang Mojokerto in East Java. Epistemology of eclectic refers to soft constructivism. Processes are carried out does not highlight the religion (Islam) as well as local traditions. Soft constructivism be one effective way toproduce a more constructive outlook. In addition, while maintaining the noble values of local traditions and the teachings of Islam. Findings typology eclectic provide answers to many previous studies such as: Clifford Geertz, Betty, Mulder and Mark Woodward
